The first bigger trip is done – and it went really well!

After those first wins, I spontaneously drove to Italy with my girlfriend – the self-imposed mission was crystal clear:

“Go to a Bennet in Italy and reward yourself with a Chinotto!”

Said, done.

In the evening we went out for dinner at Lago Maggiore.

Of course, I took it slowly and walked more like a noticeable limp than a smooth stride, but I still managed to rack up a few steps over the weekend:

Friday: 6,742 steps

Saturday: 5,630 steps

Sunday: 3,544 steps

A nice side effect (still need to check with the physios if it’s good or not):

While driving, I sometimes position my leg so the calf is tensed.

That means I ended up triggering the calf for the full 900 km.

That’s actually my daily task in physio anyway.

Also, it’s a blessing to be able to do everyday things again in the apartment, like:

carrying a coffee mug, going grocery shopping, or doing laundry.

All of that was barely doable with crutches.

The furniture is also back in daily-mode – no longer arranged for patient-mode.

That’s honestly a huge leap back into normal life!
